Chicken Mozzarella Pasta Recipe

Capture the vibrant, towering majesty of Chicken Parmesan in a rapid, scoopable skillet format. By pan-frying heavily seasoned chicken and trapping it beneath a thick layer of marinara and melted mozzarella, you deliver massive Italian-American comfort in just one pan.

Ingredients

  • The Pasta Canvas: ¾ pound dry penne or ziti.

  • The Star Protein: 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts (diced into bite-sized chunks).

  • The Rich Bath: 1 large jar (24 oz) premium marinara sauce.

  • The Melty Crown: 1 ½ cups freshly shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese.

  • The Seasoning: 1 tsp dried oregano, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp fine sea salt, and ¼ tsp black pepper.

  • The Searing Fat: 2 tbsp olive oil.

Instructions

  1. The Pasta Boil: Preheat your oven's broiler to high. Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain well and set aside.

  2. The Aggressive Sear: In a medium bowl, heavily toss the diced chicken with the oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Heat the olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Drop the seasoned chicken into the pan and sear for 5 to 6 minutes until deeply golden brown and fully cooked through.

  3. The Saucy Build: Turn the heat to low. Dump the drained pasta directly into the skillet with the seared chicken. Pour the entire jar of marinara sauce over the top. Use a wooden spoon to fold everything together gently until completely unified and heated through.

  4. The Cheesy Blanket: Remove the skillet from the heat. Heavily blanket the entire surface of the pasta and chicken with the shredded mozzarella cheese.

  5. The Golden Broil: Place the skillet directly under the blazing hot broiler for 2 to 3 minutes. Do not walk away. Pull it out when the mozzarella is spectacularly melted, violently bubbling, and speckled with dark brown, crispy spots.
