Disney’s Pineapple Dole Whip
Prep time: 5 minutes | Yields: 2 servings
The Ingredients
2 cups frozen pineapple chunks (Must be frozen to achieve the thick, soft-serve consistency!)
½ cup pineapple juice (100% juice is best for that bright, tropical flavor)
1 cup vanilla ice cream (Tillamook is pictured, but any high-quality, creamy vanilla works perfectly)
Instructions
Combine: Place the frozen pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, and vanilla ice cream into a high-powered blender or food processor.
Blend: Start on a low speed to break up the frozen fruit, then increase to high.
Scrape & Smooth: Stop the blender and scrape down the sides with a spatula a few times. Continue blending until the mixture is completely smooth and thick. Tip: If it’s too thick to blend, add another splash of pineapple juice, but be careful not to add too much or it will become a smoothie!
The Iconic Swirl: To get the look shown in the picture, spoon the mixture into a large piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe it into glasses in a circular motion to create that classic "Dole Whip" swirl.
Serve: Garnish with a fresh pineapple wedge, a sprig of mint, or a dusting of shredded coconut as seen in the photo. Serve immediately while it's cold and firm.
Pro-Tips for the Perfect Whip:
Dairy-Free/Vegan Option: Swap the vanilla ice cream for a scoop of frozen coconut milk or a dairy-free vanilla frozen dessert. It pairs beautifully with the pineapple!
The "Short Delay" Trick: If the mixture seems a little soft after blending, pop the blender jar into the freezer for 10–15 minutes before piping. This helps it hold those beautiful ridges.
Adult Version: For a "Dole Whip Float" style treat, fill a glass halfway with more pineapple juice and top it with a big swirl of the whip.
