Loaded Sheet Pan Nachos
Eliminate the tragedy of bare, sad chips. By spreading the ingredients across a massive sheet pan rather than piling them in a deep bowl, you guarantee that every single chip is completely buried under a molten layer of fiercely savory beef and bubbling cheese.
Ingredients
The Crunchy Canvas: 1 large bag of thick, sturdy, restaurant-style tortilla chips.
The Savory Core: 1 pound lean ground beef and 1 packet (1 oz) taco seasoning.
The Hearty Addition: 1 can (15 oz) black beans (rinsed and completely drained).
The Melty Canopy: 3 tightly packed cups of freshly shredded cheddar-jack cheese.
The Fresh Finish: ½ cup fresh pico de gallo, sliced jalapeƱos, and full-fat sour cream.
Instructions
The Oven and Pan Prep: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a massive, heavy-duty rimmed baking sheet entirely with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
The Aggressive Sear: In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until no pink remains. Drain the excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning and the required water, simmering until the liquid reduces into a thick, sticky glaze.
The Strategic Build: Spread the tortilla chips out into a single, dense, overlapping layer across the entire sheet pan. Spoon the hot, seasoned beef evenly over the chips. Scatter the drained black beans completely over the meat.
The Cheesy Blanket: Drop the shredded cheese heavily over the entire pan, ensuring you cover the edges so the outer chips get plenty of love.
The Molten Bake: Bake for 5 to 8 minutes. Watch them like a hawk—you want the cheese violently bubbling and melted, but you do not want the exposed chips to burn. Remove from the oven, crown immediately with pico de gallo, jalapeƱos, and massive dollops of sour cream.
