The Easy Ravioli Bake Recipe
Achieve all the towering, cheesy, red-sauce majesty of a classic lasagna with absolutely zero boiling or complicated layering. By using frozen cheese ravioli as your pasta structure and baking it directly in a rich meat sauce, you create a flawlessly molten casserole in record time.
Ingredients
The Sturdy Pasta: 1 large bag (25 oz) frozen cheese ravioli (do not thaw).
The Savory Meat: 1 pound ground beef or ground Italian sausage.
The Rich Sauce: 1 large jar (24 oz) premium marinara sauce.
The Melty Crown: 2 ½ cups freshly shredded mozzarella cheese and ¼ cup grated Parmesan.
The Aromatic Finish: 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning.
Instructions
The Oven Prep: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
The Meat Sear: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground meat, breaking it apart continuously until completely browned and slightly crispy on the edges. Drain any excess fat.
The Sauce Build: Pour the entire jar of marinara sauce directly into the skillet with the browned meat. Stir well and let it gently simmer for 2 minutes to unify the flavors. Remove from heat.
The Strategic Layering: Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce entirely across the bottom of the baking dish. Arrange exactly half of the frozen ravioli in a single, even layer over the sauce. Top with half of the remaining meat sauce and 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers: the rest of the ravioli, the rest of the sauce, and a heavy blanket of the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
The Golden Bake: Dust the top tightly with dried Italian seasoning. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil (this traps the steam to cook the frozen pasta) and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is spectacularly melted, aggressively bubbling, and deeply golden brown. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
